On July 25, United States Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe provided a closed door briefing to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee regarding the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Trump. During the closed door briefing, Acting Director Rowe was committed to providing details and answering questions that could not be answered in Monday’s public Congressional hearing due to operational security and ongoing investigations.
Acting Director Rowe reiterated the Secret Service’s commitment to transparency and ensuring complete cooperation with Congress, the FBI and other relevant investigations about the assassination attempt. Acting Director Rowe further told Senate members that he was committed to restoring the American people’s trust in the United States Secret Service and will provide more information to the public as appropriate.
